Speaker problem

Greetings,

awesome speakers... problem is, while it plugs "all the way" into the acer's "audio in"... it doesnt seem to plug all the way into the imacs... whenever there is ANY sound from the imac, right before the sound i hear a small, quick "zip"

Can you plug other speakers or headphones into the iMac fully? And do they create the same sound?

You'd think that after having the 1/8" plug around for so long, everyone would agree on how wide and long to make the plug and port. I bet whoever made the port (or plug, but I doubt that) didn't figure the tolerances correctly. That and the QC should have caught something like this before the part ever got to Apple. Well, unless Apple made the part themselves, but I doubt that too.
