for some reason my macbook has, when ever i open it, made a static noise whenever i open it. it's been happening for about 2 weeks, and now its starting to bug me. Does anyone else have this problem?

It's happened to me a couple of times when opening it from sleep.
Doesn't always do it though.

It's only started happening recently - since the fan firmware update, although not sure if that's a coincidence or not!

yeah i have that problem too. it's not every time, but maybe once a week. at first i was freaking out about it but now i just ignore it.

Do you have speakers plugged in? If you do this is completly normal. On the MBP and the iMac speakers don't plugin all the way causing this noise. rotate the speaker plug and wake it from sleep again. This should solve your problem.

Mine does this, but it's *very* quiet. I'm fairly certain it's just the audio circuitry coming online after being powered down. I suppose it could be considered annoying, but I barely even notice it on the rare occasions I can even hear it.
