Speakers and ipod

Hopefully this is the right place to post this.

I've got an iPod colour and want to use it as a stand-alone system in my flat. I plan to get the Harman Kardon Sounsticks II 2.1 but I don't plan to connect these to my laptop. I will also get an iPod dock and remote control.

Is there ANYTHING else I require in order to make my stand-alone system work?

I am assuming that the speakers will connect into the dock and the iPod can just sit in the dock. What about mains power? Do the speakers require to be connected to a mains socket? What connection to the mains power can I use for the iPod dock?

The speakers and the dock will need to be plugged into main, the speakers should come with a power adaptor and you can use the power adaptor that came with the iPod to plug into the dock.

iPod Power brick -> Dock -> Stereo Cable -> Speakers -> Speaker Power Brick.

Should work very well, which dock are you getting? The new universal dock would be very handy if you also buy the remote. Or just get the regular dock and a Griffin Air Click and control the iPod that way.
