Speakers for MBP Z-2300 or HK Soundsticks II? PLEASE HELP

Hello MBP fellas, Ive narrowed my research to the *best* 2.1 on the medend market.

Z-2300 or soundsticks?

Soundsticks design is 10times better but they really lack sound quality in comparison with the z-2300?

How good is the bass on the soundsticks? (I know z2300 is louder, thats why Im asking)

I want them for my small apartment room, I love clear and defined sound, I like good sounding bass, I do not really care that much about a wall-blasting bass.

JUST HELP ME PLEASE! Im getting crazy deciding.

I have both (soundsticks on the iMac, 2300's on a vista computer). The design on both is great, although the h/k's are more mac'ish. They both sound incredible, I could not tell you which one is better though. One is not significantly better than the other, I'll tell you that. That's just my opinion though. Sound quality equal, the h/k's have a way better design.

Unfortunately my local store only carries the soundsticks, I have not tried them though.

I would appreciate any other feedback. Based on what I have read so far Im buying the soundsticks.

I suppose they are better than a cheap logitech x-530 5.1? They are 5 speakers, but relatively cheaper.

yup those 5.1 speakers are junk. I've tried them (never bought em though). Get the soundsticks, you won't regret it.

Personally I prefer the Z-2300. To me they output better sound, and that's what I want. Design doesn't affect the decision for me

With no offense, If anybody has either one of them, for sure theyre going to be the best.
I want to hear from ppl who have both of them or heard both of them.

And I really doubt that any of them have a BAD sound quality. Maybe one is remarkably inferior, thats what im asking.

I own both pairs, but I'm not an audiophile - they both sound great to me. The soundsticks take up way less room though.

Actually I have a wood desk... probably the z-2300 would look nicer standing there.
Im still not convinced though.
