I might be getting some speakers for my mac pro, the challenge is, it only has two USB 2.0 ports, and I use those, and I have some ports on my monitor, but those are in use too.

Any speakers that could connect to my computer any other way?

my new GPU has HDMI, DVI, and display port.

Your Mac Pro should have 5 USB 2 ports.

You have TOSLINK & 3.5mm connectors, and bluetooth, and a separate dedicated headphone jack on the front, which supports the remote buttons on Apple headphones.

my new GPU has HDMI, DVI, and display port.

That would only be of consequence if you're specifically looking to send audio to speakers built into a display.

I may need a built in microphone as well, since I do zoom meetings too, and talk.

Thanks, yes, I found them, kind of forgot about them, but they are occupied my other peripherals. I may use the 3.5mm connector, can I just plug them into the speaker 3.5mm port on the front?

Yes, you can connect powered speakers to the 3.5 connector on the front. You then can select them as headphones in the Control Panel>Sound.

If you need a microphone input then maybe a try Bluetooth device or add a USB hub, powered if needed, for some of you USB peripherals to free up a native USB port for the best luck adding a basic audio interface.

You can connect the monitor using HDMI and then connect the speakers to the monitor. Display port should work too but I know that HDMI will work. Make sure to select the monitor as your audio output device.
