Hello-
I have a 867MHZ PowerBook G4. I recently got Creative brand speakers for it. When I plug them into the back of the laptop, nothing works. It still plays out of the internal speakers. I went into system preferences, and there isn't an option for me to select them in the "output" section of the sound section. Any ideas what is going on?

Reset the PRAM perhaps.

In System preferences, Sound section, make sure your output volume is not on zero.
Plug in some head phones to test the port. (Maybe it's the new speakers)
Google your problem, maybe someone else has had similar difficulties.
Go to the Apple website, support section and search there.
If your analog sound output has really gone to hell, you can always get a USB audio adapter that'll let you use speakers using the USB sound output system. I had to do that on an old G3 B&W. $20-25
