I've searched the web and this forum and I can't find the solution to my problem.

When i play music from the creativecommons website it sounds like my speakers are playing an additional "track" of buzzing noise. It sounds almost like a Rave remix gone bad. It's only on certain sites or apps. If I play the same track in iTunes after downloading it from the CC site the sound is gone(perfect), but I can't really hear the song until I've downloaded it and added it to iTunes...

Even if i put my headphones on the sound is still there.

I've got 10.5.7 and everything is up to date. I've had this issue for a while. Could it be a codec issue or something?

I think you caught it at the end of your post - this doesn't sound like a hardware problem. I'm thinking a codec.

Aside from the Creative Commons stuff, do you have this problem anywhere else, like games, etc.?

Since you're able to take CC data and play it correctly through iTunes, it could also be an app issue - what app are you using to play these outside of iTunes?
