FWIW, I remember about 5+ years ago saying (maybe longer) that Blockbuster, and those will someday be gone...and we'll get it from our house..

Also said music biz would go down the tubes - years ago. Networks will follow as will cable and satellite.

We all have this insight right?

Some future predictions:
• TV Networks suffer as does cable, direct, dish as the internet explodes to offer TV programming from indie and eventually major production houses.

Many new stars (Producers) will be found, many new Final Cut jobs will be needed all when pipe-light speed hits the homes. This will increase when wireless.

Eventually, wired will be gone, wireless will be the rule, then satellite.

Laptops will be a everyday item, you will see them everywhere and will be cheap, store, markets, will offer them as loans, as small as phones, to use while eating, getting coffee, theft of the device would be like stealing a paper...

The real power of computing will be portable, internet wireless satillite, 24 hours life, and 16 cores or better for carry bouts, others will have 4+ cores and hand held.

What we have now will be a joke again, and in the not to distant future I might add.

We will be ripping and rendering complete movies in seconds, what takes us hours will be mere seconds.

The future job holder will be those that learn those apps that are lower priced than proprietary for the entertainment business (Final Cut vs Avid), internet marketing, recording devices, programming, hosting, will always be in demand. The norm in homes will be the 100's of tera bytes as we will want to store everything from our old great grandma birthday party to phone calls to loved ones.

Screens will be from rolled out plastics to projection onto walls. We will have the life like sized hologram. Many memories will be stored in more than life like rendering, it will be awesome.

We will also wear glasses that give us 360 views - some will get in trouble as they will wear them while they drive.

Artists, composers will make money by performing live and donations.
Commercials will make money when they offer hidden clues for great discounts as well as become good enough for a short. Products will be branded in shows more often.

Just a few..

Peace...
:apple:

FWIW, Microsoft will release a OS that is decent, even if its a cloned version of linux that will get them into the game.

Also search Looking Glass.....:D

There was a rumor on one of the sites (macenstein maybe?) that were predicting a wireless keyboard with a multi-touch pad built for an Apple TV.

Along with other rumors (3d location controllers), it may be a small gaming machine ala Wii as well.

Well apple does have a patent pending for a keyboard similar to the OT board where its all touch screen and changes depending on what app you are using. Should be fun to use if they can impliment correctly.

Unless you can find a way to speed up light, satellite will not be the answer.

I predict that media companies will still hold the keys to the castle and will be dragging their feet using an outdated business model and use draconian controls.

Pay per view will be brought up again....and again.

Content distributors will use proprietary systems and DRM that forces you to use a particular product, rather than an agreed upon standard...

There's way too much money in the current methods of production for your idea to happen. Most people aren't content with being "indy" content producers - they want the money.

While on paper, your idea seems plausible, there's too many other variables you haven't accounted for. Let me ask you something - have you ever been on a ABC/CBS/NBC set? There's a reason why things are the way they are, and will continue to be.
