Anyone think we'll see a spec bump before September? I'm gonna need an imac soon, but I could theoretically wait for the spec bump. I'm working off a 6-yr old Dell that could die anytime, and isn't always reliable. I can keep using it... I just don't want to.

The buyers guide implies we'd see something in about 2 months, right about the time Apple brings on the Education specials in the US, but then, don't they often use those to clean out old stock?

And what kind of bump do we think we'll see? i5 available in the 21? Blu-ray? (Bag of hurt, I know, I know.) Any kind of internal redesign?

I wouldn't expect much with the Imac refresh, forget blue ray and all the other bull****. Lets just hope the 27' displays are fixed!

ETA: If you need a new computer then buy one.

Seriously, nobody know for sure, we can only guess...

Probably i3 and i5 in lower-end iMacs but not the same i5 that is in the current iMac. Apple will likely use Clarkdale which is dual core but has Hyper-Threading and has been manufactured with new 32nm process making it faster at same clock speed. High-end iMacs will remain quite same though, unless Intel releases something we don't know about

So in a summary, worth waiting if you're getting 21.5" but if you're getting high-end 27", just buy now
