Hi all, I'm deeply considering buying a refurbished 13" ((Current Gen)) MacBook Air. But I'm not sure if I should get the 2.13 GHz with 4GB ram, or the 1.86 with 2GB ram.
I use my computer mostly for school, some basic gaming, and a lot of internet use.
I previously owned a 2.66 i7 15inch MacBook Pro.

Is the extra ram and processor speed worth nearly $200?

I need help deciding between these two!

I think the sweet spot for the 13" mba refurb is the 4gb/128gb model...several hundred dollers cheaper than the ultimate with little real difference in performance

See the issue there is I need at least 256 gigs.
I had a 500 in my i7 and my back up uses about 200 gigs, Im going to have to lose some things from that anyways.

The RAM may be worth it, but the CPU not, not for your tasks. Look for a 1.86GHz model with 4GB RAM. It will suffice your needs.

The issue there is that there aren't any and I need this computer sometime next week. I would prefer to not look to eBay or other sites.

don't think you get the 256 HD without the 2.13 processor...so for sure up to 4mgs when your going to spend that much.

or go for the lower processor and do a DIY

Lol, we are actually doing the exact same thing. I just sold my same computer as yours and getting an Air.

The 1.86GHz/4GB/128GB spec is quite rare on the refurb store. I saw it the night before the updates happened, and when the store was back up they were gone.

$300 more gets your the refurb Ultimate, but is it really worth it?

good find...I tried to config a new on with same specs and it is not possible...

I still would get 4gb model but to do so adds another $180...or you can go down to 128gb HD, save about $160 and make do with an external drive..

I got 11" with 4gb and 64gb for only 929...i can deal with less HD space but I can not upgrade memory.

Anyway you go you will have fine machine with awesome portability
