Hi,

Until recently, I was able to type this here: ë

… by just holding the "e" key and then pressing the number 4 to add the two dots on the e. The other numbers such as 1, 2, 3 would add other symbols on top of the e letter, like for example é, è or ê. These are all current in some languages, so I really need them.

But since recently, when I hold the e key, the drop down menu with the numbers and the signs won't appear. Instead it just looks like this when I hold it: eeeeeeeeeeeeeee :D

Anyone know what happened here and how to revert this back? Thanks ;)

Good morning,

You could try open Terminal and enter the following command: defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool true

Please could you advise if this resolves the issue?

Tëst Tëst !

Yes it seems to work! Didn't think someone would come up with the solution that fast :) Thank you very much!

Do you have any idea why it changed it the first place?
