Top that with a finale 28th night press release bumping the capacities to.. well up to 16GB. That'll sure get a few more people rushing out to the stores.

Ever thought Apple just had all this planned from the very beginning - every feature, including battery - they just choose to release it now to create free viral coverage.

I think there will be two more announcements next week - Monday and Wednesday.

There wont be one tomarrow because it would overshaddow todays. There will not be one Friday because, if you follow polotics its a news dump day (no one pays attention on the weekends - thats why Mr. Shrub and friends release bad news on Friday afternoons).

Mondays announcement will carry buzz til Wednesdays announcement that will carry until the release. IMO

My money is on 2 more announcements. The obvious voice/data plans and the apple headset(plus any other apple accys that don't need FCC Approval). I really don't think there's much else to announce.

I dont think there will be much more than that either.

However, just because I like to dream - these are the other possibilities I see:

Somewhat likely:

1. Upped flash memory (8 and 16?)
2. .mac integration
3. More official widgets (tile game, translator, unit converter, flight tracker, yellow pages - with more to come that you buy in iTunes along with games)

Not likely but I can dream:

1. Document reading and editing (Google Apps or iWork apps supported with a public beta of iWork for Windows)
2. Price reduction
3. Hidden camera for camra chat
4. 3G support (this could be in the first list as well, there are hints coming that it may be 3G but disabled???)

There was a brief quip on Daring Fireball about a possible Apple event related to the iPhone. It's a bit less than halfway down, below the battery update post, in the Monday, June 18th section.
