Hello, I'm new here. I have a problem with my MacBook Pro mid-2012 (quite dated, will replace in the next year) where the "D" key must be hit in the exact center in order to type. If the key is hit near any of the four corners or the 4 edges of the key, it will not type. Pretty much the tip of my finger has to cover the letter on the key for it to type, anywhere else and it will usually fail. None of the other keys on my keyboard have this behavior. I've never really run into a problem like this, but it is driving me insane and I would rather not replace the whole keyboard because its not worth the money.

I tried swapping the keys on the keyboard with ones I knew worked, but this failed so it is a problem with the internal key structure. Suggestions?

If you can use an external keyboard, I would suggest getting a bluetooth keyboard (e.g., Logitech K811 or Apple's own). I almost always use an external keyboard with my MBP. The only time I use the built in keyboard is when I don't have enough desk or table top space, like when I am on a plane.
