 I have set a different ring tone for a specific contact in my address book. Does anyone know why it rings my default ring eventhough when I check it over and over, it shows that the different ring tone is assigned to my contact?

Both the default and the specific ring tone were both purchased through iTunes BTW.

Thanks for any help!

When the person rings, does the phone identify them as one of your contacts or does it display just their phone number?

I have the same problem, plus the inability to add purchased ringtones to the library from the desktop by clicking and playing the ringtone.

UPDATE: I figured out my problem. I has gmail and iCloud contacts. I assigned the special ringtone to the gmail contact but the iCloud contact had the same number listed. So, when the phone rang it didn't know which tone to use so it defaults to the default. Lol. Moral of the story, since I use gmail anyway I disabled contacts in iCloud. Good to go. Hope this helps.
