Hello,

I'm a recent switcher with a 15.4" SR MBP and a speckseethru case. Does anyone have any good suggestions for sleeves and bags that go great with it? I'm looking for something simple, and on the slim side.

I was checking out this applesac sleeve/bag http://www.applesac.com/ in hemp but apparently it doesnt fit the case.

Also this incase sleeve thing http://www.goincase.com/products/detail/15-canvas-sleeve-cl57063

What do you think?

Love the goincase, looks really classy. i have a speck case as well and I am glad I purchased it.

check out crumpler bags (www.crumplerbags.com) they're a little pricy but they make really high quality bags that conceal a lappy really well. Any neoprene sleeve will work well, I use a Tucano and I'm really satisfied with it.

PS- what color case did you get? Mine's red.

Thanks for the quick replies...

mine's red too!! i'm thinking of getting a skin to go under from either http://gelaskins.com/0/0_0_0.php
or http://www.macstyles.com/
i've seen some people on flickr with that setup and it looks awesome. nice choice with the red!!! :D

wow those gelaskins look pretty sweet, idk you'd be kinda hard pressed to find one that still looks cool under the red speck case though... That said, I'm looking for one right now :p but yeah red is totally the way to go. A friend of mine got the green one for his mbp and it just doesn't look as cool as the red does. For some reason it just looks really good with the brushed metal.

They are pricey aren't they? although, i have shopped around and their designs are pretty unique. I got one for my 4th gen photo ipod and love it. You should check out this place: http://macstyles.com/order/macstyles/index.htm
Theirs are a little cheaper and have a lot of options for "customization." i'm getting just the macpad from this place because the wrist and trackpad area get pretty smudgy for some reason.

When i ordered my speckcase from the apple store, they actually sent me a green one by mistake. I called for them to replace it, picking up the wrong one. The next time around they sent me the wrong one again, in green. so i made a disgruntled phone call to customer service and got the right one sent to me for free...which is why i'm spending that money on a sweet skin lol

I use the neoprene Incase sleeve for my 15" MBP(2.4GHz) and while it's a good case, the fitting is a little loose so I would imagine that the Speck seethru case would be able to fit in there.

I'm looking at my red techshell and it's only been out of the house and in my car once and it looks like a ton of circular scratches on top. It's very noticeable in bright light but you can still see it without much light.

I don't understand how it can be so "fragile" I was also thinking of getting a clear one to mix it up a bit. Does anyone have either the clear speck or techshell to see how they hold up aesthetically.?

I love my InCase, does the job perfectly even when I toss my MBP in my messenger bag. I really dislike the look of the speck shells, but I'll probably pick one up just to be safe once I go back to class in the fall. Needless to say, I baby my MBP and it still looks brand new (I refuse to rest my palms on the casing at all, for instance). Aluminum is much prettier than a plastic shell. :(

I think they look alright, especially with a skin or something to further contrast the colors. But i agree, the aluminum is pretty slick. As for the incase, you have the sleeve right? I was looking for something that i could put the charger in and maybe some cables and such to go along. That's why i'm leaning towards the canvas sleeve, for that pocket thingy in the front, looks ok to put in a backpack or something too.

Did you order from apple or the incase site? It's cheaper on apple but like i said a few posts up, i've had some bad experience.
