I've been looking for a nice and simple case for my new iPod with video, that protects it from bumbs, knocks, scratches, dirt, and the occasional accidental drop that happens when you least expect it without adding bulk to the iPod, so it can fit comfortably in pocket. Most cases seem to add too much bulk the iPod.

After doing some searching, I found the SkinTight from Speck:

http://speckproducts.com/vid-skintight.htm

It seems to do the job perfectly without adding much bulk, but previous versions of this case seem to have had only mediocre ratings.

Does anyone else have this case or have played around with it that can tell me if it is a good case or not (or simply give me an informed opinion on it based on my needs)?

I appreciate the help.

i just bought one the other day for my 60gb video ipod. i put on a brando workshop clear protector (front and back) as soon as i took it out of the package, and wanted something else to protect it from bumps when it's in my backpack and such. it was pretty cheap - a pack of 3 colors for under $30. i'm using only the black one and am actually planning on putting the other 2 (1 clear, the other a turquoise blue) up for sale here. :)

anyway, the black one doesn't fit as well as i'd hoped. along the top of the screen, it doesn't sit flush and pulls up a little bit as if the case is too snug around the top. it seems like this is a common issue as there are some comments about this in the forums on ilounge as well. but other than that, it's not bad. i like the fact that the bottom part of the case can flip up so that it can be placed into the dock without removing the whole darn case. it doesn't add too much bulk in my opinion. gives it a good grippy feel as well, of course. it's perfect for me to give it that added protection while traveling with it.

not the best, but i think it's good protection for the price. if you're interested in buying a clear or turquoise blue one, let me know! i'd sell one for $10 shipped in the u.s.! :p

Hmm, I also thought about the clear protectors; I was looking at TuneFilm myself.

I've got an iSkin for my 4G 40GB. It works well, if I wanted to put it in my pocket I could. If I get another iPod, which my 40GB battery is dying and Apple is getting reluctant to help but that's another story, I will get another iSkin.
