Speculative question about Apple TV, US iTunes account and Japan

So, I have a US iTunes account, am pretty deep into the Apple Sphere of Influnce (MBP, 3G, iPod, contemplating iPad) and I may be taking a one year assignment in Japan. Would a US purchased Apple TV linked to a US account work in Japan or would iTunes detect I was accessing from Japan and prevent purchases/rentals? It seems like a great way to stay up to date with some of the shows I watch...

Wouls assume it should be fine, i have a US account and i live in the UK and download off it non stop with no problems!

I live in Japan but use my New Zealand iTunes account all the time without any problems, so you should be fine I think.
