Is there a speed difference from the MBA 1.86 GHz and the 2.13 GHz? I talked to an apple store employee and he was telling me when it is that close you can't really tell as opposed to something like 1.86Ghz to 2.8Ghz. Any thoughts?

Yes, there is a speed difference, but if your primary use is email and web surfing, you might not notice much actual difference in use.

well it would be for daily use at school. Primary apps I would be using on a daily basis would be itunes, mail, Microsoft office, safari and probably a few other apps nothing too intense.

Would it better to just get an ultimate?

Faster is always better. I'd get the memory upgrade first, and then if you can afford the extra $100, get the processor upgrade.

It is def noticeable when using CPU heavy task, but its not a huge jump only about a 15% increase.
