Guys,

Need your help.. i have read a few forums to look for way to speed up my mac but they are pretty basic ways and i know them already. Do any of you guys know of any different ways to speed up a iMac?

SSD, more RAM, reinstalling Mac OS X and getting rid of all the junk.

Or you could tell us what is wrong with your Mac.

Btw, keep away from CleanMyMac, as it can lead to an un-bootable or corrupt system. And don't delete stuff you think it is there for nothing, unless you understand Mac OS X a bit better.

Oh believe me i have already made that mistake. Funny because on my girlfriends 13" Macbook it work a treat "/

Well basically my iMac seems to be slowing down over time and i really cant be bothered keep reinstalling snow leopard!! does anyone know if Lion will have performance upgrades?

Hi Oven,
you don't have to re-install the Snow Leopard.
What you do is:
Clone the hard drive with app. like CCC (Carbon Copy Cloner-free program), then 'Restore' it back with 'Disk Utilities'.
Shouldn't take longer than 1~2 hrs (all together).
All you need is external hard drive to accomplish this...

I know i sound fussy but i really don't want to have to go all through all that, i want maybe some sort of tweaking program or good maintenance program.

Just use Disk Utility periodicaly to repare disk permissions.

How big is your HDD and how full is it?
