I recently purchased spiderman on eBay because I loved it when I was younger, but when I began playing...
Well, the opening credits for the studios was VERY choppy, and the opening menu would not show at all. After hitting a enter it began the first level though, but everything was black and All I could see were the gages on my hud.
So I reinstalled rosetta(it is an older game) and got the same result?
Is there a fix or should I send it back?

That game was written for Mac OS 8.6 and up. Rosetta will not help much, unless it is able to run on Mac OS X, but even then, it might be too old.

http://www.apple.com/games/articles/2001/11/spiderman/index2.html#reqs says:
spideyside4.gif

266MHz PowerPC G3 processor or better
Mac OS X or Mac OS 8.6 or higher
64MB of RAM
OpenGL 1.1.2 or higher
CarbonLib 1.0.4 or higher
ATI Rage Pro Card with 6 MB of Video RAM or better
QuickTime 4.1.2 or higher

EDIT: Should have been noted as "Mac OS 8.6 and higher or Mac OS X", as I completely ignored the "Mac OS X" part in that order.

it says
"Mac OS X compatible"

Sorry, have read over that. But most likely, it was 10.1 or 10.2. That game is just not compatible with a modern Mac OS X version anymore.

You could try running inside an Intel Classic environment, search for "chubby bunny intel classic", there is a torrent that works on Snow Leopard, but I didn't get to install any classic applications.

There is a patch for it here…

But even with the patch, it's still not working for me under Snow Leopard. Looks like the patch itself is fairly old.

(I realise this is an old thread. Just posting here in case it's helpful to anyone who stumbles on this via Google as I did.)
