So the only time I ever have a drink on the same plane as my computer I spill some of my 20 oz. diet coke on my MacBook Pro.

I cleaned off the keys the best I could, turned it off, cleaned up the rest.
Then I turned it back on after 10/20 minutes from being cleaned up and off.

I took off the keys and cleaned under them then put them back on and turned on. So in any app; Safari, iChat, TextEdit, etc., the keys will randomly input.

Please note that none of the keys are stuck down at all and a thing like the '
is very prevalent. Not a key however. ASSSSSSS and SCCCCCC are very prevalent.

Right now my computer is laying in a L shape, battery removed and obviously powered down.

Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated.

will do. if not....what is the next best course of action? Btw: is there anyway to disable the onboard keyboard?

it seems the moisture / fluid didn't went just under the keys but also inside the actual electrical contacts, must let it dry, there will be residue left from the coke.
btw, don't drink Coke

thanks for the input. i know I gotta quit i've been addicted for my whole life and am working my way down.

Ive heard about using alcohol to remove the coke...seems shady...apparently it'd clean w/o eating the circuitry.

i spilt gin & tonic on my pb about 10 months ago and recently started getting kernel panics. the machine then stopped booting and turned out to be a faulty trackpad caused by the spill. dust/gunk had collected inside the machine where it was still sticky. cost me £310 ($550?) to replace the top case and keyboard (apparently they are interconnected so cant just replace the trackpad/keyboard). so i'd make sure its all propely cleaned inside as may cause probs in the future, even if it works ok now. dren

thanks again. the random keystokes are gone, but so is my keyboard.

on the bright side everything else seemingly works. yay team.
