I’ve asked this question before on here about a month ago, but got no response. Since a lot more people have the 10.5” now, I was hoping someone would try it out for me as it really hampers my experience. I’m wondering if it’s my iOS install, or a bug in iOS in general.

The split keyboard on the 10.5” (worked fine on the Air), doesn’t work in some 3rd party apps like Spotify, Dolphin browser, Miitomo, and a lot of others. It just has the full keyboard and won’t let you split it at all with holding the bottom right key in.

TL;DR: Can someone try the split keyboard on the 10.5 with Spotify (or I can suggest others)? If you don’t know how I can show you how.

I'll just take a guess here, but I have noticed that some apps that have not yet been optimized for the 10.5 are rendering the same as they do on the 12.9. I think the 12.9 doesn't have the split keyboard, so that could be the reason.

Oh, I wasn’t thinking about that! That makes perfect sense actually. No wonder some apps work with it and others don’t. Yeah, all the ones that are “blurry” (unoptomized) are doing that. Pretty sure that’s it.

So in other words, I’ll just have to wait for the devs of the apps to optimize them.

Yeah, I'm sure this will be fixed for most apps eventually. The 10.5 is probably going to be the most popular size, so I'm sure developers will want to optimize their apps for that size.

I'm guessing that previously, since there was only 3 sizes, and the 7.9 & 9.7 would render apps the same, most developers probably had 2 resolutions: the 9.7 resolution, and "larger than 9.7" resolution. The 10.5 is probably being seen as "larger than 9.7" so it is rendering the same as the 12.9. Now they are going to have to make a third resolution for the 10.5.
