Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help figure this problem out. I have a late 2012 i5 mac mini with 4gb ram. On the day Mavericks was released I performed a fresh install wiping my hard drive and installing Mavericks via usb pen. Since I've installed Mavericks I get the spinning beach ball pop up for a split second about 7-10 times a day, it's only for a split second each time it happens and my mac mini is running great other than that. No slowdowns, absolutely no issues at all.

However, this spinning beach ball that keeps popping up for a split second is really getting on my nerves! It wasn't happening on ML and I just can't figure out what's causing it. What do you guys think could be causing this? And has anyone else had this issue? I'm thinking of performing another fresh install of Mavericks to see if this solves the problem, would that be worth a shot?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as this is driving me nuts.

Hi Rodster,

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure how to do that, I'm pretty new to mac.

I googled your suggestion and found an article on Apple's site about it. Thanks again.

It's a bug that has been mentioned elsewhere on this forum. I have it too on my 2011 2.3.

I'm sure Apple will get around to fixing it eventually. Can't say it's having a bad effect. Split second and its gone. Appears for no apparent reason and rarely. I'm not worrying about it.

If this is the worst thing about Mavericks. And to this point it seems to be. I'm not gonna complain too much. Oh... And I didn't bother with a clean instal. I thought at first that was the reason. Clearly it is not.

Thanks eutexian, That's put my mind at rest. It's not causing any problems with my machine it was just annoying me not knowing the cause of it. Thanks again.
