What if I open the unsupported app first. Will the notes app can still do the split view?

Ironically Music does not support it and almost everyone I know wants to listen to music while they do other things.

I'm not sure if this was supposed to be a joke, but you can begin playing music and exit the app to do other things. It's been this way for many years on iOS.

Not necessarily true. While some apps allow this other apps do not and if you start the app then the music stops.

I would like the option of being able to use the Music app in split view, or at least to slide it temporarily open. It would make things more convenient if I want to choose and play a different track or album.

Was really looking for youtube to be used in split view.

Agreed. That is my most anticipated app for this feature.

I agree, it would be a nice option, but I was replying to someone suggesting you couldn't even listen to music unless you stayed in the app.

And I pointed out that you can't in some apps. Therefore Music made the most sense as most people want to listen to something while they work, especially on a plane.

The default iOS Music app is called "music", so when someone says that on a forum like this it's going to be assumed they're talking about the actual Music app, not some other random music app.

I'll try it again for the 4th time. The actual music app from Apple (the one that has the note as the icon with a white background) starts if you go into it and press play. In some apps (not all) when you open it the music stops and only the app music and or sounds work. Even if you turn all sounds off in the application and try it the music still stops. I can't be any more crystal clear than that.

Please tell me you get it now.

The problem is not the Music app. The app that stops Music playing does so on purpose and its highly unlikely that a split view could/would overwrite the apps instruction.

Except it does exactly that when using the video in split view so try again. I am amazed at how many Apple apologists there are. I am literally playing a video while in the same app that causes music (by Apple) to stop. Prior to split view you could not do this with a video. Now you can. Prior to split view you could not do this with music. You still can't

In other words it is absolutely the music app and it not being included for split view
