The latest Game Informer reports that Spore has been "delayed indefinitely", but reached for comment today, Electronic Arts says that "Spore has slipped out of fiscal 08 and into fiscal 09". Either way you cut it, it means that the game we've all been waiting to play on our computers isn't coming anytime soon.

With all of the videos we've seen of gameplay showing off the different stages of Spore development and all of the media stops Will Wright has done talking about the game, it's kinda hard to figure out exactly what is taking so long. Could they be trying to port it to a console for a dual launch? Did the game need a major overhaul? Does Will Wright hate me and just like torturing me with some sort of non-existent Sisyphusian game?

i dont buy the comments of "its gonna be the next Duke Nukem: Forever"...as Spore has had far more media attention, video footage and gameplay show-offs and DNF ever freakin did.

hmmm, could be an interesting bet between people now... Which will we see first? Spore or DNF?

Of course at this rate our great-great-grandchildren will be sent to collect.

Of course on the other hand, if you put $1 in an interest bearing account, you'll have enough to buy both games when they are released...:D
 
i smell an engine change ...

last time i checked we had 2007 which means spore is 2 years off ?.. when was it officially announced/presented ? 2005 ? and at that tiem already being in development/design for at least a year potentially going back untill even earlier (2000-2001)?

i guess will wright is slowly turning into Molyneux #2
 
if this game ever gets released it'll never live up to the hype and expectations for most.
 
Bugger. Spore was one of the few PC games I was looking forward to.

2009? **** that.
 
Oh Will... why must you taunt us so. So cruel... *sniff* It was bad enough that it doesn't/didn't seem to be coming out for Macs, but that's better (a bit) than not coming out EVER!*
