I was curious if anyone else has had the issue with the black sport band deteriorating on the external surface. I've only worn the band for ~1.5 weeks, 3 workouts, and cleaned it with just warm water and a washcloth port workout. Is this normal?

None of my OEM flueroastamer sport bands (Or black) have any deterioration or any type of defect. Contact Apple and they will likely replace it for you for free, being it has minor usage.

I appreciate the advice, I'll have to go out to the store and see what they can do for me. Thank you!

My black Sport band, which is still the only band I have, doesn't look like that after 22 months.

OP, do you do anything to clean it?

Back when I had my original Apple Watch the black band did this after some pretty hefty exercise. I asked Apple about it and they ordered me a new one under warranty without issue. It took a couple of days to get to the Apple Store.

It seems that as long as you're under warranty they'll cover it. . .
