I love the look and feel of the sport loop, but I am graduating from nursing school next year. I’m afraid the sport loop wouldn’t be good for work in this field as I’m afraid it will harbor germs and such more than the rubber bands. I’m just curious if anyone on here is a healthcare worker who uses the sport loop? And bonus points if you can tell me how you like using your watch in this field?

I am getting a series 4 watch for Christmas, so I still have time to decide which to get. I’ll be getting the Nike version, though, in whichever band I choose.:) I just don’t want to buy a bunch of loop bands to find out they aren’t good in the healthcare field.

Sport band.

I don’t want to think about trying to get bodily fluids out of a sport loop.

Regular sport band is probably a better bet than the Nike (I use the Nike anyway) since there are less nooks and crannies.

The other issue is how wet it will get. You’re constantly washing your hands and water and soap residue get on watches. I used a nylon fabric nato band for a while and it developed a horrible funky odor after a while that literally nothing would remove. I imagine a sport loop would have a similar issue.

Good points especially on the Nike version band. I’ll have to find some rubber style bands I like. Just not a big fan of the Apple ones.

I exclusively wear sports loops, I love them so much, but if I were an RN, it would never be my choice of work band. The sports bands definitely seem like the better option in that case.
