Hey guys, I've been reading some of the descriptions for some of the radio apps out there and while they do say "sports" I don't know if that is sports talk or if it is live radio broadcasts. Does anyone know of any apps that have live sports broadcasts by any chance or ones that let you look for local radio stations that would have them? Thanks in advance for any help!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5F136 Safari/525.20)

mostly this is not allowed by the rights holder (the sports league). The MLB app did live audio I believe but that's it right now.

It depends. Some stations will broadcast certain games live, some wont. Eg WFAN Ny will broadcast giants, rangers, knicks games live, plus monday night football. Other games may be replaced by an alternative broadcast while its on.

I'm also looking for something like this. There's an AM radio station out here, 1130 WDFN that broadcasts Detroit Pistons games, but doesn't come in clearly in my area.

I know that some off the apps let you specify the internet address of streaming radio stations, but is there any way for me to figure out what that address is for my radio station?

Also, if this is not a viable option, I would gladly pay the subscription price for Sirius/XM radio if they would release an app for the iphone, since they carry sports on their satellite radio service.

You can try a free streaming app like fstream (sp?) to see what you can get - but typically most pro sports and perhaps some major college stuff will not be put on the Internet - the sports want you to get their audio packages for a fee. Ex. WCBS webcast continues with news while the broadcast station does a Yankees game.

I know the station I'm talking about has a button on their website that lets you listen on the internet. I'm just not sure how to get the address from that (since it wants to install some sort of media player), to put in the iphone app of my choice, or if the stream would even be compatible with any of the iphone apps.

I wish you could try out the radio apps for 24 hours before you had to pay for them. I don't want to pay 5 bucks or more a pop until I find a compatible app.
