Sports watch with link bracelet?

Does anyone have a sports watch with a link bracelet?

I'm curious to see how it lookes since the brushed aluminum is different from the stainless steel of the watch
 
I have the Space Grey with BSB, ordered during the pre-order phase, and am seriously considering sending it back.

Why?

Because at the moment you are unable to purchase the black link bracelet separately. I incorrectly assumed, as it turned out, that on hearing you could purchase separate bands, thought great, I can "bling" up my Space Grey with a lovely black link bracelet.

All my previous watches have been Stainless Steel link, and to me, the fluromaster band just looks "cheap".


So guys. What to do?

Send to back, or hold in the hope they make the black link bracelet available sometime in the future?

C'mon Apple. Give us customers a choice please. It's not like they will be making a loss on this option, as I'm pretty sure they would charge around £400 for it.

You can always get an adapter and a link band or look for a third party band for it. That being said, WWDC is coming up in a couple days....so maybe wait and see if they release more information then??

Put a "wanted" ad in the marketplace section on this board. There were a few people saying that they weren't crazy about their link band. Maybe someone that bought the SB SS would be willing to sell you theirs. :)

Failing that - if you're still within your "14 day return period", you may want to pull the trigger. I really don't see Apple selling this separately anytime soon. It's still going to take them until July to fill all of the pre-orders. They obviously can't produce them in as quick a pace as the others.

I was another person who immediately wanted to pair a black link bracelet with my 42mm Space Grey Sport and was pretty miffed when I realized that Apple wasn't selling the band separately. You can also check on ebay... there's about 4-5 bracelet only listings for the space black if you're that driven to get one.

(My bank account is gonna hate me but I went ahead and bought one [auction only ended today so I don't have it in hand yet]... when I do I'll come back here and post some pics!)

Are you still going to post pictures of the SG Sport with the space black link bracelet? I'm very interested to see them, too!
 
Sorry, had a busy day at work yesterday so I didn't get a chance to get the band on and size it. I got around to doing that this morning and from the moment I put on the link band I was a fan. The reflectivity of the space black link bracelet is similar to the space grey sport watch (along the wide face of the band, the 'edges' of each link are polished up to a mirror finish). It feels really comfortable on the wrist and I quickly forgot that I wasn't wearing my sport band anymore.

EDIT (And yes I'll see how my hairy arms do with the link bracelet and report back if I get the hair pinch/pull issue that people have talked about)

This, my friend, looks absolutely PHENOMENAL!

In my humble opinion, this combination works actually BETTER than the SB link bracelet with the (too shiny for my taste) SB stainless watch! Bracelet and watch look just like they were made for each other. Wow.

Care to tell how much you had to pay for the bracelet on ebay? My wallet is fearful already ... :eek:
 
Also, please post these pictures in the "Show off your Watch" sticky thread as well! That thread gets a ton of traffic and this combination of yours hasn't been posted there before and MUST be seen! :D

Gosh that looks amazing, bought the black leather loop for my Space grey and thought I found my perfect band but I want it haha.
 
I have to agree that the SG Sports w/ black link might look better than the matching SSSB w/ link. My SSSB arrived yesterday and I'm rather disappointed with the way it looks. It's just... too black.
