Ok this is a bit OCD and I discovered it accidentally. I found this spot that appears to be under the oled panel right near the pill punch out area. I can only see this while using a bright maglight flashlight. Can’t see it in daylight or room light. Does not show up in any pixel test pattern.

It appears to be internal parts under the screen that happen to be visible through the screen under a very bright light. You can see a line as well which also seems to be internal. Are oled panels slightly translucent under very bright light?

Anyone willing to check if this is normal with a bright flashlight?

I‘d say it’s on the screen protector, isn’t it?
No screen protector. It looks very much like it’s under the panel itself and it takes that strong a light to see through to it.

What did you take the photos with?

Maybe it’s some artifact of the light bouncing of the screen into the camera lens taking the photo.
Or reflection of something above the phone that’s causing a artifact.

No you can see it with your eyes. It isn’t just something that shows up in a photo. Like it said it looks to be below the screen itself. Hard to describe but it looks “deep” and a really bright mag lite shines through the oled and I’m seeing something under the screen.

That’s why I’m curious if anyone else can replicate. But you’ll need a very bright flash light directly shining in that area. Held up to a bare lightbulb I can’t see it.

I used a weapon mounted light and I don’t see anything on my phone.

Interesting. I don’t know that I’d want to risk swapping it for something worse. It really does not seem to be pixel related in any way. It really seems like it’s under the panel. If I can’t see it on a sunny day I think I just leave it be.

I also sell and upgrade every year so having a refurbished serial # isn’t ideal.

So in very bright sunlight at the right angle I can kind of see it if I am looking for it. I can't decide if it's better to live with what is really not a big deal issue....just kind of bothers me knowing it's there. 90% of the time it cannot be seen at all.

But I hate the idea of getting a service device and serial # for re-sale next fall. What would you all do?

I believe It’s been confirmed on another thread it’s the sensors.

Wow, I didn't see the other thread when searching this. I didn't think it was a sensor based on the teardown photos, but if others are now seeing it I'm good with sticking with what I have.

I would say there are actually two sensors under the display: ambient and proximity.

Does look that way as one is bar shaped. Weird you can’t see any other structures under that much light.
