Clean install of Big Sur, and spotlight seems to be completely broken - I just get no results for any search.

Manually re-enabling spotlight (with -E /) works, but it doesn't survive a reboot.

Any suggestions?

Maybe - but the issue is, that it sometimes doesn't find anything. and when it finds something I cannot push ENTER to start the app etc. (have to click mouse-button/touchpad).

Something is broken.

I have had this problem since Catalina 15.1, {currently on Big Sur}. From Finder sidebar, I can click a tag yet nothing appears in the finder window related to the selected tag, a totally blank window. Clean install, clean re-install of Big Sur no joy :(

It's the same for me; Sometimes re-starting the Macbook or changing the user account solves this. Do you have your Mac setup for multiple user accounts? I have the feeling that it somehow is related to fast user switching.
