Good morning folks,

After much deliberation of whether to keep iOS 9, I've decided to stay put. I like some of the features.

One I am struggling with is Spotlight Nearby places.

I often disable some of the location services to save battery but want Nearby Places to work.

Does anyone know which ones need to be enabled or how to get them to appear? I only have suggested apps and contacts, so I know it is working.

Want to strike a balance between battery life and function.

Many Thanks

I think that crap is also US only or maybe UK as well. In Poland it doesn't work, at least not for me.
As always they should make a keynote for US folks and RoW.

Ah ok. Probably not in the UK neither then

Throughout the entire beta process all summer Nearby was available for nearly everywhere. Then suddenly last week when Apple released 9.0 GM and 9.1 beta 1 they decided for whatever unknown reason to make it US and China only.

Sucks because here in Canada it worked all summer in every beta build only to have it randomly taken away.

Also in Maps when I click the search it doesn't show the pretty menu with items like Food, Drink, Services, Fun so I assume this is a US only feature again :(

That's part of Nearby. It shows up in the Proactive Search screen and in Maps. US and China only, after being available nearly everywhere all summer in the beta.

Ahh! I thought it might be separate but it make sense :(
Sucks, maybe on 9.1 we will get it, but...
Probably not as I still don't have spotlight suggestions (like sports results etc...) in OSX after I don't know how long it's available...

Why do they keep making things like this US only?? Movie times among other things also don't work in Spotlight on OS X in the UK. It makes no sense when these things can all be easily made to work outside just one country, especially when they've worked throughout the entire beta period.

I don't get it either. I sent feedback about the taking away of Nearby. Still baffled on that one since it was available and worked ALL summer long.
