i noticed the the "recents" folder only had things that were like a week old. also, certain files (mostly working with audio + DAW files) just never show up in spotlight searches. creating a smart folder also didnt help to find things that were created more recently.

im still on 10.14.1.. plan to update after finishing a big project this week - but if there are any quick fixes out there id appreciate it.

also i checked to make sure all file types and folders are being searched for in sys preferences, and did the "add + delete folder to re-index" trick .. no cigar.

thanks in advance

Seeing the same exact thing. There are two files I open a couple times a week, but spotlight always seems to have issues finding them. After I open them manually spotlight is able to find them instantly. But then a couple days later it has a hard time finding them again. They're iCloud files (Numbers).
