All of a sudden, my spotlight is not showing up next to the clock on the top menu bar. I checked the spotlight preferences and everything is fine there, but command-space now does nothing for me.

anyone have any ideas?

Launch terminal from /Applications/Utilities
and type in:
Code:
open /System/Library/CoreServices/Spotlight.app

Thanks Theatrics, I see it worked, I am encoding some video right now, so cant reboot for a couple of hours.. I assume it will come back upon reboots?

Thanks again

You are welcome. Hopefully it should start up after a reboot. If not, something screwy is going on. A way you could fix it would be to go to Accounts in System Preferences and under Login Items, add Spotlight.app from /System/Library/CoreServices/

Good luck!
