Anybody else get Spotlight search results that sometimes omit what should be obvious? I’m trying to use Spotlight more as it’s a very powerful tool (or should be) when using a keyboard. But for example, I’ll search for a name expecting it to show me the person in my contacts. Sometimes it will work fine, but sometimes it will show a bunch of other results but completely omit the “contacts” category. And just now I searched for the Notes app (typing “notes” and “notes app” and “notes.app”) to launch it, and it gave me everything except the Notes app. Again, the desired category (apps) didn’t even show up. Granted “notes” is a vague word for a search, but it’s a major native app, I’d think it should show up. (Apple choosing these extremely common words for app names like notes, books, music, tv—making them impossible to search for—is a whole other aggravating issue.)
I wish there was a way to force spotlight to search a particular category or app. It’s very frustrating because I feel like this is one of those things that should just work, and would be so powerful if it did.
