I have always turned this off mostly for privacy reasons where I don't want messages and webpages appearing in a search which i pretty much use exclusively for launching apps or a quick web search. i vaguely remember there being an option in general but can't see anything anywhere now. be gutted to lose this option.

Anyone else seeing this or has the option moved?

I think this is what your looking for?

Settings > Siri > ...

You can exclude content from certain apps showing up in search. Such as messages etc

It was a lot easier to turn off in iOS 10. Nearly impossible with iOS 11 if you have many apps.

It’s not a solution. You get inapp suggestions anyway.
If I disable everything, I don’t get any app in spotlight search and if I turn on for exampl Amazon the search show me the app but products too. I’m not interested in Siri’s machine learning suggestions. No algorithm can learn what my brain wants to do next!!
