I am using an iPhone 6s Plus running the latest software (9.3.1) and since even previous software versions have had problems with getting spotlight search results to work properly over a cellular connection (3G, LTE, etc). No matter what, spotlight search results will pull up contacts, emails, text msgs, other app related content like IMDb, Shazam, etc, but I cannot get it to consistently pull up nearby map locations, Wikipedia info, movie listings, etc. Basically, any info that requires the use of a data connection (spotlight suggestions). If, however I am connected to wifi, it will consistently work, but I have to jump through hoops in order to get it to work on a cellular data connection consistently and reliably. When it stops working, it usually requires a reboot of the phone and then it only works for a certain amount of time before it stops working again. Besides that, one sure way to tell it won't work is over in the Siri proactive page. If the news won't load toward the bottom then you can guarantee spotlight suggestions won't produce results as you type, save for what's local on the phone. Anyone have this same issue? Any possible solutions? Please and thank you! Included is a pic of the Siri proactive page without the news results loaded.

I have a 6 plus and since a few months I had been experiencing spotlight issues it doesn't work at all either when on cell data or wi-fi.
I think it simply is buggy. I tried disabling Siri suggestions as well with them on. No fix.
Only after power off and back on it starts to work but very slow.

I've had the same issue. Prior to 9.3, it worked. At times it was super slow, but it worked. Since 9.3, there are a lot of times I don't get results. Nothing. Like in your first screenshot. I've even let it sit until the screen turned off. It just doesn't display results. I found a trick that made it work, but only for a short time. Now it's completely hit-and-miss. I never know what I'll get.

I've had this nearly the entire 9.x branch.

It used to work great when I got my 6 Plus, but for a long time it either works straight away, or it will take a second, but most times it just never comes up, no matter how long I left it.

I tried the contact list trick with Siri, I've reset the phone (Which helped for a long while but has now just started to act up again)

It's really frustrating because most of the time when I need to do a Siri Search, it's because I need something quickly, like a boarding pass or booking info and it never loads when I need it to.

I don't know how it's not fixed yet as it's been doing it for as long as I can remember now.
