I have updated apps (Shazam,Soundhound,Skype) that say you can search within the apps through spotlight without having to open the apps.

I cant seem to be able to figure out how this works... If i type a song or artist in Spotlight i dont see any results that have to do with any of those apps...

This is one of the feature I wait and it seems work really bad. In IMDB you able to find a movie in spotlight only if you already opened one time in the app. What's the reason? Completely useless like this.

so you can see results only after you have already got the results in the app? Useless to me..

Spotlight is probably limited to the databases in the apps themselves at this point. So when you look for something, it caches, and apparently you're supposed to want to look at this info later on again (Why would we do that in these instances?).

To help with this, developers should be intelligently caching related films, songs, and trending stuff. Apple needs to let Spotlight access these third party APIs that power search in IMDB, SoundHound, etc.
