Spotlight window showing the help info box

Here's something that happened out of the blue and I don't really know how to get it back to normal.
The spotlight window at the middle of the screen for months now appeared as a thin text field window. Since yesterday whenever I bring up spotlight I also get the introductory info box underneath it. The one that you would only see the first time you install Yosemite (in addition to searching your mac you can now search....).
And there's no way for me to get rid of it.
The icing on the cake though is that I'm getting the German version of it! Even though I don't have the German language or keyboard or anything related to German in my computer... I live in Germany but apart from that my computer is setup in English.
Any idea how to revert to the normal spotlight window without the help text underneath?

It appears every time for me too. They must of changed the behaviour. Mines in English though, not German.

That's just plain terrible. It's like having the manual pop up every time you use your stove. Or something like that.
There must be a way!!

Once you start typing it disappears. It doesn't bother me.
