Spreading the Gospel, how i am trying to get my Windows friends to switch to iTunes.

Hello everybody, well it's been going on 2 days now since Apple released iTunes for Windows and ever since that great day i've been trying to get all my windows frineds to make the switch. but it seem my task will be much more difficult that I imagined it to be. being a mac user for about 2yrs now, i made the switch when the flat panel imac debuted now my current desktop. well as a mac user i guess i've been spoiled by the greener grass on this side of the fence. I seem to have forgotten how moronic and one dimensional the PC Trools are. in the last 2 days i have spoken to atleast 10-12 people trying to get them 2 make the switch but to no avail , what get's under my skin the most is they most of them wouldn't even visit the apple website just 2 check it out the most common reply i got from them was i like my music match better or music match already does that (Sell Music) . i mean gosh they were acting like i was trying 2 sell them a freakin car , after i told them it was free just try it out , it costs u nothing. just another prime example of ignorant PEECEE users shooting something down b4 even taking a look. well just wanted 2 share this with all my fellow mac users . if u have any similar experiences or opinions please share them with me .

I'm thinking about launching my own campaign here on campus, and I think that the iTunes allows over a network sharing will be a big hit, and could really get it to take off. I just talked to a friend on a different campus and she said that most people on campus are sharing their libraries, and it makes for great availability to listen to music just like borrowing a CD.

And usually borrowed CDs turn in mp3s Sharing it around the school would keep piracy to a zero, great idea!

I got my friend and girlfriend to switch. My friend had two major gripes, which I can't argue against:

1. It takes up way more RAM than Winamp does, and even WAY more than the mac version... (20 megs PC vs 10 megs Mac).

2. It tookover all winamp playlists, and it didn't even ask. (It does ask about default for audio files, but a winamp playlist is hardly an audio file).

I just got done playing around w/ it... very nice. My only gripe is the scrolling song names seem "choppy"...

well, I was one of the first in school to get an iPod, so it was pretty easy. all the kids were marveling over it, so when the music store was released for wondows i just told them that my iPod works with iTunes, which is simply the best combo in the music world. so far, about ten kids have iPods and even more use the music store. I found that a common misconseption was that you only have to pay for songs purchased on the store. importing via CD or any other way is free. Once they understood that, it was easy.

Buy your friends a $10 gift certificate to the iTMS for their birthdays. In a year you should have them all...
