Greetings,

I've just received an email from Digital River suggesting I purchase Smith Micro's Spring Cleaning, to keep my Mac clean.

The question is, is this just a gimmick program or does it have value?

i think it's more of a gimmick than anything. your mac should be fine without any additional cleaning software.

i can't believe they want 49$ for nothing! all what this software do can be done with the terminal or better with any of the free utilities out there, like Yasu or Onyx

Agreed. Don't bother with it. Your computer will be fine without it.
