Ok so I'm running on jailbroken 2.2 and I was sitting in biology class chillin in safari and I clicked the home button and the springboard started to restart and I was like ooook? So I let it do it's thing and my back round was gone and it popped up with a message that said "springboard crashed. And a whole bunch of other stuff and that my device was nor running in safe mode". Should I be worried or like unjailbreak it? Is this normal? Thanks for the help.

I've had a similar problem. I was on a app and went to homescreen. I accidentally double-tapped my home button, opening my iPod app. After the home button wouldn't work. I could lock it, and when I tapped the home button it woke up, so I knew the button was actually functional. Nothing else would work though, I was stuck on either the lockscreen or iPod... Then I accidentally took a photo of my lockscreen, then the screen turned blank and didn't do anything! I had to hold home and power for 7 seconds or so to get the thing off. (it wouldn't turn off, no matter how long I held the power button)

I've not un-jailbroken my phone yet, but I'm thinking of restoring and re-jailbreaking, see if all my 'glitchiness' and problems go. Maybe you should try the same if you're having frequent problems :D

Don't worry, it's normal. I've had that a couple of times and uh, SpringBoard was just acting up. 0__o All I did was not to use any app there or anything at all in "Safe Mode" and instead, I just clicked "Restart" button when there's a Safe Mode pop-up. Then, everything went back to normal. :]
