Hello everyone,

Before anyone recommends itunes restore-from-backup, that's not what i want.
I use 6.1.2 and it's jailbreaked.
I'd like to restore from scratch, and i'm not gonna restore-from-itunes-backup.

can someone lead me steps and file locations on this subject?

I prefer not to use cydia applications like, springtomize or pkgbackup.

Let's assume i have folder called "Arcade" on springboard.
And this folder has many games in it.
In that folder let's say, from left to right, angry birds->pitfall->temple run.

Now thing is, if i restore from itunes-backup, folders and icon places will remain as they were before the firmware restore.

But without using itunes-backup, i want to keep my all folder names, places as they were before.(Like if there's a file for springboard folder & icon settings, i will restore this file manually)

Hope i made it a bit more clear.

Guess i found the solution.

copying all files located at:
/private/var/mobile/Library/SpringBoard/

from the old backup, worked flawlessly for me.
I used iTools(to access file system) and iBackupBot(for extracting files from itunes backup file).

Ps: Afaik jailbreak is required.

In all honesty, you only need the IconSupportState.plist and respring the device for stuff to take effect

If you have a DesiredIconSupportState.plist, you can safely delete it. It just messes up when you try to make the springboard organized like in IconSupportState

If you were to boot up in mobile substrate mode disabled or safe mode, your phone would read the IconState.plist file instead

Would this work without issue even when updating from
iOS 6.1.3 to
iOS 7.0.4/6 or iOS 7.1.1/2 ?

Any other ways to do this? Good cydia apps/ tools?
