Doesn't really attack the iPhone, just the network its on. There are a lot of people I know who would get an iPhone but refuse to switch to AT&T.

Yeeeah... Too bad Sprint doesn't have "4G" in very many palces. If you think AT&T's 3G map is lacking...

At any rate, i don't see it as a swipe against Apple or the iPhone. Why bash the iPhone when you're trying to get iPhone uses to use your service (provided of course, you're covered)?

Sprint is just grasping at straws right now. They bet the farm on the Palm Pre, and the Pre is flopping.

Wow! UPTO that's like..... next to nothing to something that doesen't exceed 10 times if you're right next to the tower doing something unspecified! I think I"m going to ditch my beautifully designed iphone for some run of the mill korean/chinese POS phone just so I can do whatever limited application they have faster!! yeah baby UPTO 10 times faster here I come!

So you have to carry a device in your pocket? It is essentially WiFi. I mean who is going to walk around with a Sprint and an AT&T plan?

Also, they did attack Apple; literally. He took a bite out of an apple. Doubt that was coincidence.

Yeah, Sprint is pathetic. Sprint's 3g is 4x bigger than At&t and they have a head start on 4g. They have the most spectrum of any US carriers.
Yes, Sprint in pathetic.

Don't forget better plans when considering txt and data.

Sprint 4G is WiMax.
Poor building penetration and up to 1000ms response times if you don't have line of site on the tower. Great if you have nothing in your way.

The boasted 30km range is open area (no buildings in the way)
Tested urban areas had fall off between 200m to 400m from the tower.
That alone qualifies as pathetic.

Maybe Sprint should've used an Android phone instead. Less thin skin.

The best comments I've seen around on this ad came from those who had better ideas, playing on the multiple connection feature of the unit:

Such as having his friend with the iPhone hook up first and go "wow". Then someone with an Android phone stops by and hooks up as well. Then an iPad user. And so forth until all five connections are used up.

Or my own idea: show it used in a van full of people all browsing etc during a carpool or college roadtrip.

I'd even try to make the limited geographic area into an asset by pushing the "coolness" factor of only certain cities having it so far.

And thats why they're the number one carrier in losing customers each quarter.:D
Pretty soon they'll shut down and be merging with either Verizon or Tmobile.
Overall, Sprint lost about 200,000 subscribers in the fourth quarter. The company also posted a fourth-quarter net loss of $980 million on revenues of $7.9 billion. Comparably, the company posted a net loss of $1.6 billion on revenues of $8.4 billion in the prior year.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

I know the point was to attack AT&T, but nobody is going to pay for unlimited data with AT&T and then a sprint mobile hotspot too. Now this thing with an iPod touch and skype is an interesting idea (tho I have no problems with AT&T, but if they stink where you are but you really want an iPhone than maybe).

As for the chomping the apple thing, I didn't get that, tho it was clearly the intent. But why, when they're simultaneously saying that the iPhone is cool?
