Sprint users can't call my iPhone number

OK, really, before the smart remarks...

I just bought a 3GS to try out ATT service in my area. I am currently with Sprint and have 3 other family members that are on my plan. None of our phones can call my iPhone. We get an funny message that says "the number or code you dialed is incorrect, please check it and try again". Then it says code 5 and some other 3 digits. But, any other line - landline, Skype, my office answering service/forwarding - seems to get through. And I have no problems calling or texting the Sprint phones - and the number comes through just fine on caller ID.

Since I have not ported my number yet, I could still get another number or just go ahead and port. But I have never seen or heard of such a problem. Was Sprint looking over my shoulder??

Didn't you hear about the new feature in 3.0 called ihate I hate allows apple to make it so you don't recieve phonecalls from carriers that have "iPhone killers" cough cough pre so what you are expieriencing is one of apples new 3.0 features

that is weird man, but it has happened to me. my girlfriend uses sprint and just yesterday I cannot make calls to her, and it gives me that message "the number you have dialed... please hang up try again, then it says some kind of error code real fast which i can't make out" , it just started doing this out of the blue, but i can make calls to her sister who is on Sprint, just not her. I kind of feel like AT&T is ****ing with me since that is the most dialed number I use on my cell phone. I can text her, and she can text and call me, i just can't make any calls to her. Anyone ever have this problem?

OK, so it is the OTHER way with you. I have spoken to both ATT and Sprint on mine - which is still happening. It is apparently a relay issue. For some reason Sprint is not relaying the call on to the network. I can text too - but so far, NO Sprint number can call my ATT number. I am not too worried about it right now as I am probably going to port my Sprint number anyway. But if it happens after that......!!

change your att number to a new att it should be fine afterwards the problem is with the number itself

Yeah, I can call any other number, even others with Sprint accounts. It has worked fine since I got my iPhone probably in January. But it just started doing this yesterday. Very strange, of all numbers of course its my girlfriends.

You know I was thinking about that, but that would be a huge hassle and I wonder if they would charge me.

they shouldn't because of the problems you are haveing

Also I just found out that my one friend who also has the iPhone 3G cannot call her as well. She is in a different area code as me, so it is definitely not my area. Weird isn't it?
