is there a tool for OSX that will enable me to make video film smaller in order to send thru mail..?
example:i have 30mb of film i want to squash doen to under 10mb

most of the "pro" versions of mac video apps (QT, Toast) allow you to significantly compress video files upon final rendering. But most mail servers (even broadband) limit individual file sizes to 5mb, so you might lose alot of the quality.
 
Quicktime Pro is your best app IMO. TO compress further without losing too much quality, look into avi codecs that will allow this (divx formats tend to be about half the size of relatively equal quality mpeq and mov formats).
