I've been studying this forum over the past 3 weeks whilst I initially awaited the macbook update.

Once it arrived I waited for the first review and so far a lot have been very negative, so I want to know if now that we have the first update have the problems been solved?

Are things fast and smooth? are keyboards working? are screens brighter? (new graphics drivers?), are fans noisy? are they too hot?

Are they finally living up to the apple name or regarded as the slow cousin nobody keeps in contact with?

tell me tell me tell me!

Things are far from smooth. Even after a fresh install Dashboard, dock and the genie-effect while minimizing programs lag on my 2,4ghz MBP (hires). It runs much faster on an old 667mhz PowerBook G4 with Tiger.

Keyboard seems to work better though.

no problems here.
pre-update my keyboard stopped working once, but after the update, i haven't had any problems at all. nothing is lagging (dashboard/expose/genie)... all looks good. no fan noises, no heat issues... my screen is calibrated and pretty.

but i will note that i haven't been doing anything terribly extensive.
