My new SR MBP is acting quite strangely trying to connect to my netgear wireless router.
The set up I have is the netgear router which normally wirelessly connects to a desktop PC and another laptop PC. This has been fine ever since I got my new MBP. All settings were automatic and I literally fired up the PC and it automatically connected to the router and then onto the ADSL.
My MBP wouldn't originally connect to my wireless network at all; it found it but refused to connect. After searching on the internet I discovered I had to associate the MAC address of the airport card to the router, which I did.
Strange things now occur - I can't seem to have more than one MAC address enabled on the router. As soon as I add the MAC addresses of the other PC's and they connect to the router, it kicks out my MBP, and equally when I go into the netgear router settings and remove the PC's MAC addresses and apply the settings - bing - my MBP automatically connects again.
This is a bit of a pain, because although the PC's aren't used that much on the internet they are still needed and the only workaround so far is to go into the settings and remove my MBP so I can use the PC's.
It's as if my MPB is saying "only i'm allowed on this network, not you windows machines"
Anybody had a similar experience or know of a fix? It would be much appreciated.
