I know the Glossy V Matte issue has been done to death, but I was just wondering how it plays out on the new SR MBP's...

I've just ordered a 15" 2.4 glossy and from what I've read, there appears to be more problems with glossy LED screens (yellowing/narrow viewing angle) compared to the matte screens. I'm wondering if you guys reccomend I should switch to matte? I prefer glossy but if there seems to be this disproportionately high fault rate then maybe I should reconsider and get a matte.

What do you guys think? Or is my paranoia just stemming from reading a forum where the rate of errors are completely misrepresented and disproportionate because people only come here if they've got an issue?

Any help would be much appreciated,

Cheers,

Jake.

If you want/ed glossy, then go with glossy. That is a lot of money to "settle" if you really want something else. I got glossy and do not have any problems with it. And I got the worst one according to the poll here (glossy, Samsung).

Can't answer for anyone else (and who knows, there may be a higher defect rate with glossy), but from my own experience the 15.4" glossy on my MBP is absolutely flawless, and one of best notebook screens I've seen (gotta love that 17" hi-res though :()

The screen on my glossy SR MBP 2.4 is STUNNING and has no issues. I highly recommend it in every way!

Luck of the draw.

When something is mass produced, you are always going to get an error factor with some having problems. Pity the error factor was so vast in this yellow tint issue, but we'll wait and see if newer builds are free of this problem.
