SSD....3g or 6g

My uses are some light video editing but with very large files and some motion work.
Right now, with the stock drive, if FCP and motion are both running I get serious slowdown because the drive is struggling with in out loads.
I already have a 3G drive, but am considering of installing a 6g drive.

By in/out loads. Do you mean page ins and page outs? Seems RAM would be cheaper than replacing the hard drive. While I haven't looked for any reviews of the Electra, my guess is it is on par with most 3G Sandforce drives (i.e. vertex 2) which means it's still a good performer but just doesn't have the max bandwidth that a 6G/SATA III drive would have.

The Electra uses asynchronous NAND while the Mercury Pro uses synchronous-- so the Electra is a bit slower in real-world tasks.

For your needs, speed and reliability, the Samsung 830 is probably your best bet.
